Sorry, it was a while ago, but we built an izakaya in Chuo-ku, Osaka! This time, even though it was an izakaya, it was an "oden restaurant" and the client wanted it to have a Japanese atmosphere and a stylish feel. The client is a chef, so he was particularly particular about the kitchen and the placement of the oden equipment!

Our client this time was not your typical "old man at an izakaya" type of person, but rather a quiet and very pure person.
He was such a nice guy that we were worried about him! We were a little worried about whether he would be able to compete in a pub with so many strong competitors, but we were relieved to hear that his wife would help with the management. His wife is a very efficient woman, and we felt very safe watching her, so we were very happy (laughs).
To be honest, this is not something an interior decorator would think about.
The main dish of the izakaya interior! Making the counter

When it comes to the interior of an izakaya, the counter is the most noticeable feature. Many izakayas have a variety of counters, but on the other hand, there are so many options that it is difficult to decide which counter is best. As interior designers, we place a lot of importance on the "interior budget," so we first propose a counter that matches the image based on the interior budget. There is no need to spend excessively much money, so we try to consider the construction of the counter while checking it against the interior budget as much as possible. This time, we chose "ash wood," which is also known as oak even among laminated wood, and created a laminated wood counter with a coating on the surface to create a more luxurious feel.
Another important part of an izakaya's interior! Ductwork | Izakaya food

When you look at the finished product, the hood of an izakaya looks just like a square box, but in fact it is based on quite detailed calculations. Of course. The duct work is also quite difficult. When we think about the interior design of an izakaya, the thing that interior contractors are most concerned about may actually be the duct work and the hood.
When it comes to the interior design of an izakaya, the counter is the most eye-catching part, but in fact the most important part may be the duct work and food.
Ceiling height of the pub

For a casual "izakaya" (Japanese-style bar), a high ceiling may not be preferred. Too low ceilings are also a problem, but don't you think izakayas with low ceilings have a more familiar feel to them? As an interior construction company, high ceilings seem better, but low ceilings can also look quite nice.
Izakaya interior design
Is it necessary to be elaborate with the design of an izakaya? I think that interior design companies like us shouldn't spend too much money. It would be better to let the izakaya incorporate one or two ideas and use the remaining money to develop tableware and menus. Personally, I find it hard to go into an izakaya with a very high-class interior (;^_^A
This time, we were invited to the pre-opening!!

We were invited to the pre-opening of "Odenya Shimada," the restaurant for which we designed the interior design! All the oden that came out was delicious, and the wife's enthusiasm was very impressive.
However, as interior design contractors, we are most concerned about our own work (;^_^A
I'm always worried about things like, "Is the counter height okay?" or "Does the duct hood work properly?"
